Joe Jonas Falls Between Two Boats During Italy Vacation

Singer and actor Joe Jonas was enjoying his vacation in Italy when what seemed like a routine move between boats nearly ended in tragedy. During a September 23 appearance on "The Morgan Stewart Show," Jonas recalled slipping and falling into the water between a yacht and a smaller boat. The singer was fully dressed and still had his phone in his pocket when he surfaced between the two vessels.

Jonas acknowledged that the story “sounds like the bougiest problem,” but reiterated how terrifying the experience was. According to Jonas, he was on vacation with his girlfriend, Tatiana Gabriela, as well as Morgan Stewart and her husband, Jordan McGraw. The group had been spending time aboard a crewed yacht, which also had a chef on board, before heading to a waterfront restaurant. Stewart, who was standing directly behind Jonas, said the group had been waiting for several minutes because the tender was repeatedly being rocked up and down. She described it as a very small boat, more like a canoe compared with the yacht they had been traveling on.

Jonas was the first of the four to exit the yacht for the tender boat. The first mate fell into the water with Jonas while trying to help him. According to Jonas, the two boats were only a few feet apart, leaving him trapped between them when he finally surfaced.

They wanted him to swim toward the yacht’s ladder so he could climb aboard. However, Jonas noted that the ladder was near the yacht’s large engines, so he chose to climb onto the tender boat instead.

However, even that didn’t go exactly as planned. Jonas said he hit his shin while trying to pull himself aboard and fell back into the water. He tried again, eventually rolling himself onto the smaller boat completely soaked.
