Fast & Furious Star Tyrese Gibson Faces Arrest Over Dog Attack
An arrest warrant has been issued in Georgia for Fast & Furious actor Tyrese Gibson after authorities said his four cane corso dogs attacked and killed a neighbor’s pet earlier this month.
The Incident in Buckhead
According to a Fulton County Police Department report obtained by Entertainment Weekly, the incident occurred on September 18 in Atlanta’s Buckhead neighborhood. Harrison Parker, Gibson’s neighbor from across the street, told police that his 5-year-old Cavalier King Charles spaniel was killed within minutes of being let out into the yard to go to the bathroom.
Parker said he found the small dog dead in his driveway. Security camera footage also allegedly showed Gibson’s dogs scratching at a door across the street just minutes before the fatal attack.
Police reported that Gibson’s canines had been spotted running loose on at least five separate occasions in the 10 days prior to the spaniel’s death.
Warnings and Legal Action
Fulton County Animal Services Commander Capt. Nicole Dwyer said Gibson had received multiple warnings about the dogs being off his property before the September 18 attack.
On September 22, police said Gibson initially agreed to surrender his dogs but later asked for more time to decide. In response, authorities obtained both a search warrant for his property and an arrest warrant for alleged animal cruelty.
That same night, officers searched Gibson’s home but found neither the actor nor the dogs.
Gibson’s Response Through His Attorney
On Tuesday, Gibson’s lawyer Gabe Banks released a statement to Entertainment Weekly confirming that the actor had relocated the dogs.
“Mr. Tyrese Gibson extends his deepest condolences to the family who lost their beloved dog to this tragic incident that occurred while Mr. Gibson was away from his home,” Banks said. “Upon learning of this unfortunate accident, Mr. Gibson immediately made the difficult decision to rehome his dogs to a safe and loving environment.”
Banks added that Gibson is “cooperating fully with authorities to address and resolve this matter responsibly” and asked for privacy as the legal process continues.
Career Background
Tyrese Gibson, 46, is best known for his role as Roman Pearce in the blockbuster Fast & Furious franchise. He has also appeared in films such as Baby Boy and Transformers, alongside a career in music and modeling.
While the actor’s legal team works to resolve the case, the incident has drawn significant media attention, particularly given Gibson’s celebrity profile and the tragic loss of his neighbor’s pet.
