Panera's Chocolate Chip Bagel Is Back for Fall
Panera has plenty of new things to tempt us with this fall. But, sometimes, we don't want new. We just want chocolate chips baked into our bagels. Thankfully, Panera has obliged.
The Chocolate Chip Bagel Is Back
Panera brought its Chocolate Chip Bagel back to restaurants nationwide on September 2nd as part of its fall menu.
It's a pretty simple proposition: a bagel filled with semisweet chocolate chips. No pumpkin, maple, or elaborate autumn makeover. Just chocolate chips and a bagel, which have always made a pretty great couple.
Panera considers the Chocolate Chip Bagel a returning guest favorite, and it's one of several familiar items making another appearance this season.
There Are Some New Treats in the Bakery Case, Too
The bagel may be returning, but Panera also made room for a couple of newcomers. The fall bakery lineup also includes:
A PB&J Cookie
Cinnamon Croissant Bites
And the names give us a pretty good idea of what we're getting. Panera has turned the classic peanut butter and grape jelly combination into a cookie, with a little powdered sugar on top.
The croissants go in a more festive direction. They're bite-sized, covered with the same Cinnamon Crunch topping Panera uses elsewhere on its menu, and served with icing on the side.
Basically, breakfast has several opportunities to become dessert now.
Soup Season Has Also Arrived
The bakery case isn't getting all the attention. Panera also introduced a Three-Cheese Lasagna Soup for fall, combining:
Italian-style sausage
Lasagna pasta
Parmesan cheese
Ricotta-tomato broth
Asiago cheese
Rustic Baked Potato Soup and Autumn Squash Soup are back for the season, too.
And, if dipping a sandwich directly into soup sounds better than dealing with a spoon, Panera's Ciabatta Dippers have also returned.
These sandwiches are designed for dunking, with fan favorites like:
French Dipper
Spicy Chicken Dipper
Chicken Pesto Dipper
Each one comes with its own soup or dipping sauce.

There's certainly no shortage of pumpkin on the menu once September rolls around. But, a Chocolate Chip Bagel doesn't need to know what month it is.
Panera's returning favorite is available now, giving us another option for those mornings when a regular bagel seems a little too responsible.
