The 2026 Emmys Gift Bags Are Worth $28,000 — Here's Exactly What's Inside

Not every nominee goes home with an Emmy. But every nominee, presenter, and performer goes home with something considerably more practical — about $28,000 worth of gifts, to be exact.

The 78th annual Emmy Awards happened on September 14, and this year's gifting operation is split between two channels: the official Emmys Giving Suite backstage, where talent can browse and select from a curated collection valued at around $14,000, and an assembled gift bag worth another roughly $14,000 that goes directly to about 80 nominees, presenters, and performers. Together they add up to more than $27,000 in goodies for people who are, in most cases, already quite wealthy.

Lash Fary, founder of Distinctive Assets — the Los Angeles-based entertainment marketing company that has produced the official Emmy gifting experience for 24 years — keeps his selection philosophy simple. "It's a combination of products and services I love and use in my real life along with brands who submit their gifts for consideration," he said. "The simple evaluation process is whether or not I'd give that gift to someone in my real life."

The Giving Suite also benefits the Television Academy Foundation, which funds educational programs for the next generation of television professionals. Distinctive Assets says the suite has helped generate more than $1 million for the Foundation over the years.

What's Actually in the Bag

The 2026 gift bag covers basically every category imaginable — tech, beauty, wellness, food, fashion, home goods, and a few things that require explanation.

On the wellness and beauty side, nominees are taking home items from Dove, Dr. Danucera skincare, Beverly Hills Rejuvenation Center, and BioHarmony, alongside Garnier Micellar Vitamin C Cleansing Water and Essie nail polish — two products available at any drugstore, which is either charmingly down to earth or hilariously anticlimactic depending on your perspective.

The tech portion includes a Ballet Gold Edition cold storage cryptocurrency wallet finished in 24K gold plating, which retails for $222 and is described as storing digital assets securely offline. It may be the most dystopian item in the bag.

On the food and beverage side, nominees are receiving Cann Social Tonics — a cannabis-infused beverage brand — and wild-caught seafood subscriptions. BUBS nutrition products made the list. So did Bananagrams, the word tile game. And so did a decidedly more adult card game from Spite House Studios called "Go F*** Yourself" — a TikTok-popular card game that puts an X-rated spin on Go Fish, designed to uncover embarrassing secrets and confessions. There's even a "Mom and Dad" version engineered specifically for family awkwardness. It's unclear which Emmy nominee plans to bring that one to Thanksgiving.

Services featured in the bag include a privacy concierge service that removes personal data from public databases, life coaching sessions, and a wild-caught seafood subscription — the latter suggesting someone in the gifting suite has very specific ideas about what television's elite need in their lives.

Motorola earbuds with Swarovski crystals are also making an appearance. Because regular earbuds aren't festive enough for Emmy nominees.

Why Gift Bags Exist — and What They Actually Cost

The tax situation around celebrity gift bags is worth knowing because it surprises most people. The IRS treats gifts like these as taxable income. When a nominee receives a $28,000 gift bag, that value is technically reportable income — meaning the IRS expects to hear about it. The actual tax bill depends on the recipient's income bracket, but for someone in the top bracket, accepting a $28,000 gift bag could come with a tax liability of over $10,000.

Some nominees decline the bags entirely for this reason. Others quietly donate the more impractical items. A few actually use everything, which requires a very particular lifestyle.

For the brands included in the gifting suite, the exposure is the point. Getting a product photographed with an Emmy nominee, worn on a red carpet, or mentioned in a post-show interview delivers attention that no advertising budget can replicate. Distinctive Assets says the competition to get into the official Emmy suite is significant — and brands pay for the privilege of being selected.

The Television Academy Foundation, meanwhile, quietly benefits from every celebrity who stops by to grab a $222 gold-plated crypto wallet and a card game with an expletive in the name. Hollywood is nothing if not efficient about its philanthropy.
