Wave Browser August Impact Report: 8,350 Pounds Removed
In August, the Wave Browser community helped support the removal of 8,350 pounds of plastic and trash from oceans, rivers, and coastlines through our partnership with 4ocean.
That brings our cumulative impact to 133,428 pounds removed, meaning we are more than two-thirds of the way toward our current 200,000-pound goal for 2026.
Every pound represents real waste collected by 4ocean crews. It also reflects the role our users play in moving this ocean project forward through something they already do every day: browse the web.

How Everyday Browsing Supports Ocean Cleanup
Wave Browser connects normal browsing with verified environmental impact. When people use Wave, the browser generates revenue, and Wave uses part of that revenue to help fund 4ocean cleanup operations.
There are no environmental tasks to complete and no rewards program to join. Users browse as they normally would, while Wave continues supporting the removal of plastic and trash through the partnership.
This model helps people think differently about their digital footprint. Time spent online depends on real devices, infrastructure, and services, but the tools we choose can also support work beyond the screen. Wave Browser is a 4ocean Certified Cleanup Partner. Cleanup is carried out by 4ocean crews, and the reported results are verified through the organization’s impact system.
A beach cleanup or river operation requires trained crews, equipment, transportation, sorting, and responsible handling after collection. The impact does not come from a single search or click. It comes from sustained funding that supports the people and systems doing the work.

The idea of an ethical browser should be supported by transparent information about how its environmental model works.

With 133,428 pounds removed, the Wave community has completed more than 66% of the current 200,000-pound goal this year. August’s 8,350-pound result brings us another step closer.
